Saving at the Cajun Heartland State Fair

Well, the fair is in town and we have been driving past the location each day on our way home. My daughter is five now and is highly anticipating going to the fair.

I remember going to fairs as a child and I remember my experiences well.  It can be a really great time for the whole family.

Of course, as with everything, I wanted to figure out how to enjoy the fair with our family without breaking our budget, so I did a little research and found a few ways to save.

Here you go!

Budget tips for the Fair:

  • Buy discounted or advance tickets, or plan to go on a night when there is a special promotion.

  • Allocate a certain amount of money per person for food and other activities
  •
  • Save on the food budget by eating before you arrive at the fair

  • Allocate a certain number of tickets per person for rides, walk around the fair and let the children choose their favorite rides (depending on the amount of tickets they have) that way there is a plan in place and the children are prepared.

  • Explore and enjoy as much of the free fun as you can!
